SIL assists individuals ages 55+ to remain active in the community, reduce isolation, and maximize their independence through several different programs.

Senior Connect Basic

Senior Connect Basic is our NEW program available to ages 55+ that gives you access to our quarterly newsletter, invites to special events and our Active and Aging Resource Fair, and early information or referrals for when you finally need a little help around your home. This is our introductory program for people who are still on the go who might not yet be ready for more help. Sign up today!

Case Management

Case Management is our core Senior Connect service where we work with individuals 55+ in our service area to help aging in place and promote independence. We will help identify and meet personal goals. SIL supports seniors in making informed decisions, so they can transition from unnecessary dependency to their fullest inclusion in our community.  

Supplemental Nutrition Delivery

Is our monthly delivery to assist low-to-moderate income individuals age 55+ maintain independence, increase food security, and increase their quality of life. We collaborate with other agencies like The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri and the Assistance League of Mid-Missouri. 

Friendly Visiting

Volunteers visit for one hour a week with an individual 55+ in our service area with a low to moderate income. This program helps reduce social isolation, depression, or loneliness and helps improve overall quality of life.  

Grocery Shopping

Volunteers will take low-to-moderate income individuals 55+ who resides in Boone County grocery shopping or will deliver groceries to their home and help them unload. 

Property Tax Credit Filing

The Missouri Property Tax Credit (PTC) gives money back to qualified senior citizens ages 65 years or older and/or individuals who are 100% disabled. The credit is based on the amount of real estate taxes or rent paid during a calendar year and the total household income. To qualify individuals must be a MO resident for the entire calendar year for which they are requesting the credit. 

We offer assistance to residents of Boone County who are age 55+ who are enrolled in our Senior Connect Program and meet the PTC requirements. 

Snow Shoveling and Yard Projects

This programs helps people at home who need help with one-time projects to improve safety and accessibility of their home or to make sure their home complies with city code. This is available based on our available volunteers for the project.
